Clare Duckworth is Sub-Principal First Violin in the London Symphony Orchestra, and has held positions with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the London Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic (Principal First Violin).

 

As a teenager, Clare was a member of the National Youth Orchestra for 5 years and led the orchestra in 1997 and 1998. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music and leading the European Union Youth Orchestra for two years, Clare held positions with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the London Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic. She also regularly performs as part of the John Wilson Orchestra.

 

Clare has coached violin sections of the NYO, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music and several years ago was made an Associate of the RAM.
