Are you an oboist? A pianist? A composer? Our summer school includes seven unique programmes, which take place together every summer: Chamber Music, Orchestral, Vocal, Piano, Saxophone, Composition and Conducting.

Each programme is between one and three weeks long, and you can attend for any number of weeks. If you're interested in attending more than one, you can even combine programmes. If you're not sure about the best option for you, get in touch and we can help answer any questions.

Once you've selected your programme, it's time to begin your application. Send us a request using the button below, and we'll send you a helpful Application Pack with all the information you need to prepare.

Step 2: Make your audition video, letter and photo

Before your submit your online application form, there are a few things you will need to prepare.

Applications to all our programmes must include:

  • A short audition video (or examples of your composition)
  • A letter of recommendation from your teacher
  • A passport-style photograph

Audition video

Look at your chosen programme's audition page (found in the menu at the top of this page), to see if there are specific requirements for your video, such as what to perform and any set excerpts. Your audition is a short video showcasing your talent and musicality, and does not need to be professionally recorded. If we can clearly see and hear your performance, good quality smartphone/tablet/webcam videos are accepted.

Letter of Recommendation

Please ask your music teacher or school counsellor to write a letter of recommendation to accompany your video. The letter should say that your video is a true representation of your playing / singing, and that they approve of your application to Ingenium. You can send this as a Microsoft Word file or PDF uploaded to your application form, or by email.

Passport-style photograph

This photo will help us verify your application, and will be used to make your ID badge that you will wear while you are with us. Please make sure it's a clear photo of your face.

Step 3: Send us your application online

When you're ready, simply complete our application form. The form will ask you for the contact details of 2 parents / guardians, including email address and mobile phone number. You will also need to tell us a little bit about your musical playing / singing experience and provide us with the contact details of your music teacher / school.

We also require a £250 deposit to secure your application, payable by credit/debit card or wire bank transfer. Should you not be successful in gaining a place at the academy, the deposit will be refunded to you minus a £20 administration fee.

Your video, letter of recommendation and photo can be uploaded to your application form. If your video is too big to attach to the form, please send it to us by email, or using a file-sharing website such as WeTransfer.
